Where the event will take place?
The event will take place at the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, located at Ludwika Pasteura 5, 02-093 Warsaw in the Ochota campus. All meetings, keynotes and collaborative activities will be held inside the main building shown on the image.
From Warsaw Central Train Station
From Warsaw Central Train Station head to the tram stop Dworzec Centralny 07 and take tram 7 or 9 to the Wawelska 04 stop. From there take a 10 minute walk along Ludwika Pasteura street to reach your destination. Alternatively from train station you can take bus 128, 175 or 504 from the Dworzec Centralny 01 to Pomnik Lotnika 01 stop and take 9 minute walk through campus.
From Warsaw West Train Station
After exiting Warsaw West Train Station head towards Dworzec Zachodni 01 bus stop through underground passage. From there you can take bus 167, 182, 187 or 523 to Wawelska 05 stop then take about 10 minute walk along Ludwika Pasteura street to reach Faculty of Physics.

Public transport in Warsaw
Warsaw has a well-connected and reliable public transport system that includes buses, trams and the metro. Services run frequently throughout the day, making it easy to move around the city during the event.
Tickets can be purchased at machines located in metro stations, at many stops and sometimes directly on board. You can also buy tickets with mobile apps. Tickets are valid across all modes of transport, and both cash and card payments are accepted. Remember to validate your ticket immiediately after boarding or when entering the metro area. In case you bought ticket with mobile app remember to scan QR code after entering vehicle or when going through metro station gate.
Up-to-date timetables, ticket options and travel guidelines are available on the official Warsaw Public Transport website, which provides full information for planning your journey around the city. Alternatively for route planning you can use platforms like Google Maps or Jak Dojadę.
Currency and Payments
The official currency in Poland is the złoty (PLN). Card payments are widely accepted in shops, cafés and restaurants, and ATMs are available throughout the city. Currency exchange can be done in banks or in private exchange offices known as kantors. Most everyday purchases can be made using contactless payment, so carrying large amounts of cash is usually unnecessary.
Shops and Services
Most shops in Warsaw operate from morning until early evening on weekdays, with shorter hours on Saturdays. Due to local regulations, many stores remain closed on Sundays, although small convenience shops may still be open. Post offices typically operate on weekdays and offer basic services such as purchasing stamps or sending parcels.
Emergency Services
In case of emergency, the general European number 112 connects you to all major services. You can also reach specific services directly:
- 997 for the police,
- 998 for the fire brigade,
- 999 for medical emergencies
- 986 for municipal police.
Calls from public phones are free of charge, and operators can assist in multiple languages.
